Since 2005, the rooftops of our headquarters, warehouse, and outlet in Weil am Rhein have gradually been fitted with solar panels, covering approximately ten thousand square meters in total. This allows us to generate roughly 1.3 million kWh of energy per year, which is then fed into Germany’s general network in line with local legislation, providing the equivalent of 430 households with electricity.
In addition, we only use green electricity from water power for all our locations at headquarter level and throughout our German operations.
In 2020, we carried out energy audits for the same locations in Weil am Rhein, which helped underline where we need to focus our efforts to further reduce our environmental impact at HQ level. These steps are just the starting point, as we seek to minimize the impact of our operations globally. We are currently working on a wider strategy to measure and subsequently reduce our energy usage throughout our operations. We plan to roll this out in 2022.
